Signposted™ accessibility

Accessibility statement for Signposted visitor pages

This statement covers every visitor page published with Signposted, including the five demonstration sites on this website. The pages are built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Public-sector clients who publish a Signposted page must publish an accessibility statement under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018; this statement is written so that it can be adopted or adapted for that purpose.

What’s included

How the pages conform

What a visitor can rely on, whichever site the page is for.

Keyboard

Every control is reachable and operable with a keyboard: the search, the menu, the map buttons, every pin on the map, the list, the place card, directions and the step cards. Focus is visible throughout.

Screen readers

Landmarks and headings structure the page; pins, buttons and dialogs are named; live status, notices and emergency alerts are announced; the places list is a complete text alternative to the map.

Vision

Text scales to 200% without loss; every text and status colour meets the 4.5:1 contrast ratio; busy, quiet and closed are shown with words as well as colour; touch targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.

Hearing and cognition

Nothing depends on sound; directions are plain words with the landmarks you pass; routes can be read aloud one step at a time and stopped; no time limits are set on any task.

Motion

Animation is reduced when the device asks for it; no content flashes; the map can be used by tapping the list instead of dragging.

The map itself

Maps are inherently visual, so every place, route and status is also available as text: the places list, the search, the step-by-step directions and the plain-language Ask box.

Testing

How conformance is checked

Every release of the visitor page and all five demos go through the same checks.

How it works

Limitations, reporting and enforcement

Prepared 20 October 2026, reviewed with every release.

  1. 1

    Known limitations

Third-party content embedded by a client, such as a CRM enquiry form, a YouTube video or a Matterport tour, is governed by that provider's accessibility; we flag it in the builder and the places list carries the same information in text. Map tiles from OpenFreeMap and Esri are images without text alternatives; the places list is the alternative.

  2. 2

    Client content

The accuracy of step-free routes, accessible places and the access statement depends on what the client marks and writes. The builder prompts for each, and the page says plainly when no step-free route has been marked.

  3. 3

    Reporting a problem

Email hello@360virtualtours.co.uk with the page address and what went wrong. We aim to reply within two working days and fix conformance problems in the next release. If you are not satisfied, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

  4. 4

    Enforcement

The Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 in England, Scotland and Wales, and the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland in Northern Ireland.

Is the visitor page accessible to people who use a screen reader, a keyboard or large text?

Yes. Every Signposted visitor page is built to WCAG 2.2 AA: it works with a keyboard and a screen reader, scales to 200%, carries nothing by colour alone, keeps touch targets large, offers the places list as a text equivalent of the map and reads every route aloud. We audit each page and all five demos with automated and manual checks, and publish an accessibility statement that public-sector clients can lift into their own. The step-free routing, accessible places and read-aloud directions are described on the accessible wayfinding page.

Can we use this statement for our own site?

Yes. Copy it, add your organisation's name, your contact route and any content you have added that is outside the Signposted page, and publish it on your own website alongside the visitor page. The regulations require the statement to be reviewed regularly; we will tell you when the page changes in a way that affects it.

Does this cover the builder as well?

This statement covers the visitor pages. The builder, used by your own staff, is also built to work with a keyboard and a screen reader and is covered by a separate statement on sign-in.

Do visitors need an app?

No. The page opens in any phone browser from a QR code or a link, with no download or sign-up. To-do list ticks are remembered on the visitor's phone.

Can we change it ourselves?

Yes, that is the point. Sign in, edit, publish. Changes are live in seconds, so the page can be updated for an event, a term or a road closure without waiting for anyone.

What does it cost, and how do we get access?

Signposted is priced per site, from £5,000, depending on the size of the site and what it needs. Tell us about your site and we will send a quote.

Need an access audit of the site itself?

We photograph accessible entrances, lifts and routes as part of a 360 tour, so visitors can see the way in before they arrive. Tell us about the site and we will quote.

No obligation. No travel charges anywhere in mainland UK.
