kinroom: Student Accommodation Virtual Tour
A bespoke 360 virtual tour of three student buildings, Compass, Pine Mill and Red Queen: thirty spaces, a colour for each building, and every room type side by side.
kinroom brings three purpose-built student buildings into one tour: Compass, Pine Mill and Red Queen. Between them they have studios and en suite rooms in shared apartments and houses, shared kitchens and lounges, gyms, a cinema, study spaces and courtyards. Most students choose a room like these without seeing it first, and many compare more than one building before they decide.
We photographed all three buildings in 360, thirty spaces in total. The tour is one of our bespoke 360 virtual tours, with an interface designed for students: bold type, cream cards with chunky outlines, and a colour for each building, blue for Compass, green for Pine Mill and red for Red Queen. Below we walk through each feature and why it is there.

Three buildings, one way of living
The tour opens with a card for each building in its own colour, listing its room types and its living spaces and how many spaces there are to see. Students start with the building they are interested in, or work through all three.
Switch buildings whenever you like
Along the top, each building has a tab with a count of the spaces seen so far, such as 1 of 10 in Compass, so students can jump between buildings to compare them and see what they have not looked at yet. Each space has a card naming the building and what kind of space it is: Arrive, Your room, Shared living or Amenities, with previous and next buttons in the building’s colour.

All spaces, and every room type side by side
“All spaces” shows every space in the current building as a photo, grouped into arriving, your room, shared living and amenities, with the current one marked “You are here”. A second tab puts every bedroom, studio and bathroom from all three buildings side by side, so students can compare rooms before they compare buildings, and a third collects the amenities.

Notes where they help
A few spaces carry a note, opened from an “i” marker, with the detail a student or parent would ask about: which rooms a photographed room represents, and the size of those that differ; that kitchens and lounges vary with the number of people sharing; and what happens in the courtyard through the year.

The amenities
The spaces that set a building apart get their own scenes: the coffee point, study hub and pool room at Compass, the courtyard at Pine Mill, and the social hub, gym and resident cinema at Red Queen.

Designed for a phone
Many students will open the tour on a phone. On a small screen the building cards stack, the building tabs sit under the logo, space cards fill the bottom of the view, and “All spaces” becomes a two-column list.

Self hosted, with no platform fee
Like our other bespoke tours, this one is a self-contained website that can sit on an accommodation site and be shared by link, with no annual platform subscription for the tour itself. If you run student accommodation, take a look at our student accommodation virtual tours or get in touch.
