Gresham's School, Holt: 360 Virtual Tour
A bespoke 360 virtual tour of Gresham's, a boarding and day school for ages 2 to 18 in Holt, Norfolk: 33 places on a drone aerial of the 200-acre estate, 16 in 360 and 17 as photographs, with a directory of every place.
Gresham’s is a boarding and day school in Holt, Norfolk, for boys and girls aged 2 to 18. Founded in 1555, it is set in 200 acres four miles from the North Norfolk coast, with a Senior School, boarding houses, a Prep School and a Nursery and Pre-Prep on the same estate. For families a long way from Norfolk, or overseas, the first visit is often online.
We photographed the whole estate, from Big School and the Chapel to the Theatre in the Woods and Weybourne Beach, with a drone aerial over the campus. The tour is one of our bespoke 360 virtual tours: 33 places, 16 of them in 360 and 17 as photographs, set on an aerial view of the school, in an interface designed around Gresham’s crest and its gold, cream and charcoal. Below we walk through each feature and why it is there.

A welcome over the campus
The tour opens over a drone view of the school with the crest, one paragraph of welcome in the school’s own words, and three ways in: “Explore from above”, “Start at Big School” or the directory. The school’s film, “This is Gresham’s”, can be watched from the welcome screen or the menu.
The school from above
The aerial 360 is the map. Every one of the 33 places is pinned to it with its number: dark squares for places that open in 360, white squares for places shown as a photograph, with a key in the corner. Families can see how the Senior School, the boarding houses and the sports fields fit together before they go in.

Sixteen places in 360
The 360s cover the places that matter most on a visit: Big School, the Dyson Building and a science laboratory, the Quad and the Chapel, the sports fields, the Outdoor Activity Centre, the Theatre in the Woods, Weybourne Beach, the Prep School and the Nursery and Pre-Prep. A bar along the bottom names the place, its part of the school, and the previous and next views, so the tour can be walked in order. Information points in the scene add detail, such as the bridge that takes pupils to the library and boarding houses.

Each place has an “About” panel with a short description from the school: Big School, for example, opened in 1903 and its classrooms are used for English, History, Geography and more.

Seventeen more as photographs
Not every building needs a 360. The boarding houses, the library, the sports hall, the swimming pool, the shooting range and others open as a large photograph with a button to show them on the aerial view and arrows to the next place. It keeps the tour complete without asking visitors to turn round in thirty-three rooms.

A directory of every place
The directory lists all 33 places, numbered, with tabs for the Senior School, the senior houses, sport, outdoors and activities, and the Prep and Pre-Prep. Each row shows whether it is a 360 or a photo, the boarding houses carry their house colours, and the panel counts how many places have been visited.

Designed for a phone
On a phone the header shrinks to the directory, the crest, the aerial view and the menu. Photo places open as cards, and the directory becomes a single column.

Self hosted, with no platform fee
Like our other bespoke tours, this one is delivered as a self-contained website for the school to link to from admissions pages, emails and open-day invitations, with no annual platform subscription for the tour itself.
