Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve jotted down the most common questions we get asked below. Got a question that isn’t covered? Just give us a call or drop us an email.
Every question you’ll see below has been asked before, and we’re constantly adding to them!
How are the 360 Virtual Tours produced?
We take anywhere between 4 and 9 individual photographs that cover the whole 360 degree horizontal view, and full 180 degree floor to ceiling view. We then take those shots back to our studio where we ‘stitch’ them together to make a single image. This image is then processed a number of times to produce the interactive virtual tour, just like the ones on our site.
How long does it take to shoot a virtual our?
This is a bit of a piece of string question, although we tend to take anywhere between 2 – 5 minutes to shoot each individual tour, or scene.
Do you need someone with you when you take the photos for the tours?
No, as long as the brief is detailed enough and we can access the location, we do not need to be accompanied during the shoots.
What do I need to do before you arrive?
The most important thing to do before we arrive at your location is to make sure each area you intend to get made into a tour is clean, tidy and looking it’s best. Due to the nature of virtual tours, you see everything! We will do some room dressing if needed, although specific things you will need cleared from the areas will need to be communicated before the shoot.
Can you produce virtual tours outside or with people in?
We can produce tours in spaces as small as cupboards, to areas as large as open fields and vast landscapes. We can also produce tours of areas full of people, just take a look at some of our examples.
Can I take my own photographs for use as a virtual tour?
Taking photographs suitable for use as a virtual tour is not an easy task, and unless you are trained in both standard photography and virtual tour photography, the chances are you won’t be able to take the shots yourself.
Can I use the virtual tours in a presentation, or on CD’s to hand out?
Yes you can. The tours can be used both on and off line. We can supply you with both formats if you need them, for no extra cost.
Can you supply us the panoramic 360 imagery you use to create the virtual tours?
Yes, just let us know what images you need and we can supply you with versions you can use on your website. We can’t however provide you with the full size TIFF images we use, as these are over 300mb in size!
Do you provide a service for Estate or Letting Agents?
Due to the quality and level of interactivity in our tours, we generally find that most agents require something faster and at a lower cost. For this we recommend using a quick, one shot system. Although the quality is much lower, the results are fast and low cost. You can find a number of ‘do it yourself’ one shot tour systems online, just do a Google search.
How long will it take from when you arrive to take the photographs, to when we get the finished tours?
It generally takes anywhere up to 15 working days to process the images and turn them into virtual tours, this is providing we get the information we need for any information points or interactive content as soon as possible after the shoot. We can provide quick turnarounds, although we must know in advance.
