I grab a quick shot before filming begins…

Today I dropped in on a shoot just before filming began, and I was lucky enough to get a shot of some of the equipment before it was carted off for use.

Above is just a snapshot of our video equipment, although it does give a good overview of some of the key equipment we use on set.  We are currently shooting our first few productions, and can’t wait to show them to you.

As you can imagine, we mix and match equipment dependant on the project.  For example, for video tours and location walkthroughs, the steadicam equipment we have is perfect.  The operator wears a support vest, that has attached to it a mechanical arm.  On top of this arm sits a weighted fly-cam that holds the camera in place.  It allows you to walk at variable speeds and still enjoy a smooth, steady shot.

For grand sweeps and downward shots (perfect for entrance or starter shots!), our camera cranes fit the bill.  We can perform camera movements impossible by a sole camera operator.  We also use camera dollies (wheels for our tripods!) that allow us to follow specific actors/presenters or move quickly and cleanly on smooth surfaces.

Other useful pieces of kit include light rigs (an indoor rig is shown above) and a 7ft and 14ft camera crane and more sound equipment care to list!

Our video production service is a recent addition to our creative services, so why not visit our video production page and get in touch.

We’ve been commissioned to produce virtual tours for 16 of Sungard® Availability Systems’ UK sites.

Sungard® Systems are pioneers of the information availability arena, and have been around since 1978.  They can provide over 12,600 end user positions in various locations around the UK , the total square footage is over 1,000,000!

We’ll be producing virtual tours for 16 Sungard® locations over the UK to replace their current, dated tours.  These will be shot over the next few months, so we’ll have a busy start to the summer!

Our charity scheme gets a nice mention…

We’ve recently been mentioned in the press regarding our charity scheme and the work we did for ‘The Helicopter Museum’.

We produce tours all over the UK, from the South West, London, Kent all the way up to Hull, Newcastle, Birmingham and more.  Since 360virtualtours.co.uk started business we always wanted to put some time aside for local charities in and around our home base of Bristol.  With this in mind we started our charity scheme at the end of last year with the Helicopter Museum as our first charity tour.

Producing the tours was great fun, and the Helicopter Museum were very pleased with the end result.  To read more about our first charity project visit our blog post here: Helicopter Museum Tour.

Top London Commercial Location goes interactive…

We were recently commissioned by top property people Strutt & Parker to produce a 360 Virtual Tour of this top London commercial space to boost enquiries.  A mix of stills and tours were produced for One Cavendish Place, which is situated in the heart of the West End.  The tours will be featured on the developers website as well as being given out to prospective clients to boost interest in this fantastic location.

The tour itself features an interactive floor plan, contact details and location map.  All this is accessible from within the tour itself, meaning you get maximum exposure while people are engaged in the location.

What Strutt & Parker thought!

“Very good value for money, the Virtual Tour is exactly what we required and covered everything we set out to achieve”  – Guy Milne, Strutt & Parker London

3 Locations get the 360 Virtual Tours treatment!

The beginning of 2010 saw a brand new website launched for Crest Nicholson, along with the inclusion of 6 new Virtual Tours produced by us.

The Commission

We originally began working with Crest and their marketing company back in October.  The project encompassed 3 of their locations; Henlow, Epsom and Poole.

The show homes are superb (and we’re not even just saying that!).  Each location has it’s own individual style and it was important this was captured in the tours.  The penthouse at the Poole Quarter has fantastic panoramic views over Poole Harbour, Epsom has an Eco theme with some fantastic ‘green’ features and Henlow offers great modern living in a great location.

Site Integration

It was important that the tours integrated well into the site.  We worked with the web developers to produce a tour skin that was subtle and easy to use.   A transparency was used to fade the skin buttons and thumbnail links and neutral colours were used to enable the tours to be used on any site design and not look out of place.

The Virtual Tours

We’ve still got several sites to shoot, but in the meantime take a look at the virtual tours here:

Epsom – Elements:  Click here to view the Elements Virtual Tours

Benefits of a Virtual Tour

When people view static photos online of a location, be it a show home or an art gallery, you will often find that it just isn’t enough.  A 360 Virtual Tour allows a user to get a real feel for a place.  More and more people are realising this which is why we are seeing a real growth in virtual tour photography.

Professional still photography.

Still Photography Example

Here at 360 virtual tours we provide the UK with top quality, completely custom designed virtual tours.  The thing is it’s not just virtual tours we’re good at!

Over the past 3 months we have been offering still photography with our virtual tour projects, and it’s been getting some great feedback.

Our professional photography works on the same principles as our 360 Virtual Tours.  We aim to fully immerse people by creating wide angle true to life images.  Our techniques can be used for any application, including commercial property, show homes, retail, events & more.

HDR Imaging.

HDR (High Dynamic Range) involves taking pictures of the same scene at different exposures, meaning the image has perfect light levels both indoors, and out.

Wide Angle Shots.

All our shots are wide angle meaning you can really show off more of your location.  A wider viewing angle means people are able to appreciate the space even more.  This also works on smaller spaces where a conventional shot would not be possible.

Use online or in print.

Our shots are merged from a number of images, giving you perfect flexibility when it comes to their use.  You can use reduced version like the examples below for web use, or use the hi resolution versions at 300dpi for print work.

Photography packages

We include a number of static images in every virtual tour project, but also offer some fantastic packages catering for those that need only static shots.  Simply get in touch via our free phone number on 0800 046 1783, or e-mail us via our contact page for more information on our professional photography packages.

Well, it had to happen!

We’ve had our new site up now for over 6 months and we have yet to get a blog up and running.  On our old site, we actively posted and received many comments from clients and site visitors on how much they liked it.  So, after 6 months, we have got the blog up.

We admit, it is currently a little sparse.  Over the course of the next few months we will be building up our blog count with news, recent tours, announcements and other little titbits.
